1st State Academy is designed for individuals contemplating or in the midst of a career change, recent high school graduates that are looking to extend their technical training, individuals affected by corporate downsizing and members of the cosmetology and barbering industry that are looking to enhance and expand their skills. Students are given the opportunity to run their own business and apply the lessons learned from the classroom in an actual functioning business environment through job placement and internships at local salons and rotations at our site salon. Students are responsible for the bookkeeping, marketing and services provided to the clients.
